The adventures of Tom Sawyer By Mark Twain | Book Reviewed by Vishwa Modi Adani Public School

SURESH LIMBACHIYA THE FLOATING POST

The Adventures of  Tom Sawyer written by Mark Twain book is greatly written by Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain, who was an American humorist, satirist, lecturer, and writer.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a great book to read for anyone who loves classic stories. It is about a naughty boy named Tom doing a lot of mischievous tricks and risky adventures. He has a brother named Sid and a sister named Mary. Aunt Polly, who takes care of Tom, loves him even though he is a firebrand. Huckleberry Finn, whose nickname is Huck, is Tom’s best friend as well as his partner in all of his adventures.

He did crazy adventures that one even can’t even think of. For instance, say once he went along with his two friends to another land to live and become famous pirates just because they didn’t like family interruptions and didn’t want to wear shoes.

Mondays are the worst for him because a week of dull education looms before him. If Tom is late, like he is so often, he will probably be the recipient of the switch, laid gustily upon his back by the boring school master.

He loves troubles and adventures and even troubles love him as he went with Finn to the graveyard at midnight to find a dead cat and witnesses Injun Joe, Dr. Robinson, and Muff Potter robbing graves. An argument ensues between Potter and Dr. Robinson and Potter is struck down. Injun Joe kills the doctor, putting the knife in the now unconscious Potter’s hand. Potter awakens and thinking he has killed Dr. Robinson, begs Joe not to tell anyone, and the two flee the scene. Huck and Tom decide to keep mum and swear a blood oath after which Tom creeps back home.

Tom despite all their friends, had a friend “Becky” with whom Tom got lost in a cave and very bravely Tom rescued and bring back her to their country.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer book has many morals like “even though some people scold you, they love you very affectingly, but don’t show”; “if you don’t give up, you can go very high” and “all naughty children are not bad it’s just matter of circumstances”.
